zindagī ko na banā leñ vo sazā mere baad
hausla denā unheñ mere ḳhudā mere baad
kaun ghūñghaT ko uThā.egā sitamgar kah ke
aur phir kis se kareñge vo hayā mere baad
phir mohabbat kī zamāne meñ na pursish hogī
ro.egī siskiyāñ le le ke vafā mere baad
haath uThte hue un ke na koī dekhegā
kis ke aane kī kareñge vo duā mere baad

زندگی کو نہ بنا لیں وہ سزا میرے بعد
حوصلہ دینا انہیں میرے خدا میرے بعد
ہاتھ اٹھاتے ہوئے ان کو نہ کوئی دیکھے گا
کس کے آنے کی کریں گے وہ دعا میرے بعد
کون گھونگٹ کو اٹھائے گا ستمگر کہہ کر
اور پھر کس سے کریں گے وہ حیا میرے بعد
The Poet: Hakeem Muhammad Nasir حکیم محمد ناصر was born in Ajmer اجمیر, Rajasthan, India in c. 1947. His father's name was Hakeem Naseer Uddin Nadwi حکیم نصیرالّدین ندوی and his grandfather was also a Hakeem. After the creation of Pakistan, he immigrated to Karachi کراچی, Sindh, Pakistan, along with his parents. He started his career as a Hakeem (a Doctor of Traditional Medicine) after completing a 4-year course from Hamdard Tibbiya College ہمدرد طبّیہ کالج. During his student years, he also played in Domestic Cricket in Pakistan. He started writing Urdu poetry along with his practice of Hikmat. He passed away in Karachi on 28 July 2007.
